Devī Mahātmyam, a part of Mārkaṇḍeya Purāṇa is a text through which one gets the strength to understand the Truth and firmly get established in it. This text expounds the hitherto hidden aspects of the Ādi Parāśakti. The study of this mystic text helps to embrace all aspects of spiritual life from chanting, meditation and contemplation of the Supreme mother. The rich symbolism of Indian tradition is unveiled through these talks.
In this part, Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati explains Divine Mother’s glories from the Madhyama-carita of the Devī Mahātmyam, also known as Durgā Saptaśatī, covering chapters 2nd to 4th which tell the story of the Goddess Mahiṣāsurmardini. It encapsulates meanings from the gross to subtlest nuances; which we need to churn constantly as a process of reflection and application. Indeed, the study of this scripture is a chance to live a contemplative and meditative lifestyle.
