The Brahmasūtra of Śrī Veda Vyāsa and its commentary by Śrī Ᾱdi Śaṅkarācārya give the essence of all Upaniṣads. The text and commentary give great clarity, depth, illumination, and finally Liberation. The first sūtra states: “athāto brahmajijñāsā – Thereafter, therefore, the desire to know Brahman.” Bhagavān Ᾱdi Śaṅkarācārya demonstrates the anubandha catuṣṭaya and how the desire to know Brahman arises.
